The picture below was taken using a BEAUTY DISH to camera left, an 60" Octabox to camera right as a fill and a gold reflector below the model's chin to highlight some of the shadow areas.
As far as the photoshop workflow, the picture was soften to create an evenness around the model's face and the eyes was enhance to bring the out the deep color.

EAT IN BALTIMORE

Its always good to have friends take you out to dinner. We went to P.F.Chang in Baltimore to enjoy the most elaborate night. When I smell Chinese food I feel super excited just like giving a kid a candy. However, I did hold my hunger till dinner time.

Who is P.F. Chang? P.F. Chang was founded in 1993 and the restaurants brings in fresh, contemporary and consistently Chinese food. I did a little research on investing into the restaurant and I found out that they have three restaurant total. And they have over 200 restaurants in the States.

Should I buy one stock of PF Chang or just eat it?

Last weekend was Jesus House Baltimore workers leadership conference. It was scheduled in Cambridge, MD. We had a blast and we were fed with tons of knowledge. We were regenerated and reminded of who we are as a body of Christ.

It's always fun when you gather "a bunch of people" into one place to play the Taboo board game. We invited some friends over to our humble home over the weekend which turned out amazing. Even though the boys won the game the girls were so competitive to the point that the game turned aggressive.

My first book to read for the year is John Maxwell's "Talent is Never Enough". I picked up this book at a local Barnes & Noble. Due to my super crash schedule I will be posting what I learned from the book.

At the end of December, I had the pleasure of shooting a great family right at my studio in my house.

This family has a special place in my heart. I admire their strength, courage, and relationship with one another. The Super Family

After the wedding of one of my favorite couple. I was asked to shoot one of the greatest family in the world. Few hours after church they came over to our studio for a quick portrait session.

Two flash strobes was set 45 degrees apart from the subjects plus the on camera flash created the effect I was looking for. The flash strobe on camera left was set at TTL, the other flash on camera right was set at TTL plus -2/3 stop, and the on-camera flash was set at TTL plus -1 stop. This setup allowed me to create a more colorful and more natural ambient light to the photographs.

Kimberly and Martin Wedding

Photographed the last wedding of 2007 last weekend, and i was assisted by a wonderful photographer Wale Photos. Kimberly and Martin were married during a beautiful ceremony with an intimate wedding party of 6. The bride made her own wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses as well.

The ceremony took place at a Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore, The Shrine Of The Sacred Heart. We were able to photograph the ceremony without using flash. No flash/artificial lighting was permitted during the ceremony.

The reception took place at The Inn at Government House. It is a beautiful, small atmospheric inn housed in a 1889 Victorian Mansion , and was decorated with antiques & antique reproductions.

December 14th, 2007, I added another year to my age. This is the only day that is important to me and I thank God for my life. The Bible verse, John 8:12, relates to who I am and as a photographer.

I spent my birthday anniversary with friends and family at the restaurant called, PAZO. I also celebrated my birthday with a twin-friend of mine. We were born on the same day, same month and same year. I enjoyed the outing and I thank God for giving me such a wonderful family and friends.

Last week I shot some beautiful photos of one of my favorite family. We decided to shoot some fun pictures of their beautiful baby. Anjola arrived 9 months ago and I found it fascinating how she brings amusement, joy, happiness and laughter during the photo session. She is the most fun baby to work with.

Due to weather, the photographs was taken late in the evening. An extra light was used to emulate daylight. My wife assisted me with the natural poses. Below are some of my favorite pictures.

A 50th Birthday Event Part 2

I was glad to be a part of Mrs. Y. wonderful 50th birthday celebration. It's a blessing to be celebrating 50 and God has given her the most caring and loving friends and family. I drove straight to her house from Pennsylvania (JHB Couple's Retreat).

The day started around 8:30am by shooting her preparation to church. Most of the shots from her makeup session were shot with natural light. We were amused when one of Mrs. Y. friend offered us (me, my brother-in-law and my friend the videographer) breakfast!!!!.

We continued shooting at her church (Victory Temple Bowie). The atmosphere was exciting and interesting. Some portraits where taken in the church before we head the college park. In conclusion we ended the day around 2am Monday. The experience was great and we were able to capture memorable images that will last a long time. The video and photographs can be viewed here.

A 50th Birthday Event Part I

Over the weekend, I was granted the priviledge to shoot a 50th birthday party. It was a mega event with over 400 guests. The event was carefully planned and narrated to the point that it seems to be a wedding event. The super event planner, Bimbo, decorated the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center Hall (College Park, MD). Below are pictures of highlighting the beautifully-crafted hall.

JHB Couples Retreat

This weekend mark one of the best and exciting weekend in 2007. Jesus House Baltimore (JHB), marriage and counseling department organized an outing event that involves only couples. The weekend was packed with activities that got all the couples involvement.

The 2007 JHB Couples retreat was at Hershey Lodge Pennsylvania. A marriage expert, Dr. James Childerston, was invited to teach for a couple of hours which I enjoyed and learned basic aspect of human relations.

Started shooting from the bride's house. The "bride in the kitchen" is one of the best shot. It shows the emotion and readiness between the bride and her maids and the bride's father in the background.

This was a tight and difficult shot. I had to lodge in the couple's limo and waited for the right moment.

TUNTUN & UWEM E. TRADITIONAL WEDDING

Tuntun and Uwemedimo got married last Friday in an African traditional wedding ceremony. The wedding took place in Washington, DC which is about 30 minutes from our studio.

Tuntun and Uwem are one of the most beautiful, loving, caring and engaging couple I've ever met. Fews hours before the wedding ceremony, the groom called me to see how well I'm doing. I usually don't recieve phone calls from grooms. I'm glad I am part of their memorable day.

BIG FLASH NEWS:::::: My future plan is changing my photography gear to Canon ;D This is after I read a reply comment by Gary Fong (His Canon 30D camera was stolen at the PDN Expo) Comment

I have a D2H and a D70 and those were the last Nikons I ever had. From what I remembered, the sensors were very nasty in dynamic range. They would color bloom and blow out highlights unlike any other camera. Fuji's had the best dynamic range, followed by Canon - but Canon had the awesome lenses. When the 5D came out, the first thing I remember thinking was, "wow - this is like - Fuji quality". So that's all I needed was great image quality and awesome lenses.Oh yes, and Canon started incorporating focus distance in the flash calculations. This was something Nikon offered in their 3D matrix metering for flash. in fact, when I shot Nikons - I almost had to have the flash on all the time or I'd be spending a ton of time correcting images.But I don't know about the new Nikons. I don't know about any improvements on them or any new developments, so it would be out of turn to speak about Nikons. All I know is that I stopped using them and I still have a D2H somewhere that has maybe 75 exposures on it. In fact, the D70 was actually a better camera than the D2H in image quality... but by then I was done with Nikon and lost any interest in going back.

This Week

Wow...the week is just getting better. We will be shooting a bridal "trash the dress" this weekend. Right about now the weather for this weekend is happy:) Concept was created by the well known Femster TV. I can't wait for the final product , make sure you check back next week.

Friday the 26 will be super great.... We will be shooting my friend's wedding. This couple are God's given and they are meant for each other. I can't wait to photograph their memorable day, and I am glad to be part of this day.

Finally , Abi and I decided to upload some of our memorable pictures from our wedding :D Our photographer, Doug, is super awesome.

New addition

Three days ago marked a very important day to us. There was a new addition to our family. A new XPS 720 Dell Computer was added. This computer will take our photography to another level.

New York will be our next stop tomorrow and I am so exited. Me and Abi will be attending the 2007 Photo Plus Expo in Manhattan, NY. This is our first Photo Expo and I hope we will be meeting all the best wedding photographers in the industry such as David Jay, The Becker, Dennis Reggie, Kevin Kubota and etc....

Well this video speaks for itself. This video was shot in a backyard animal farm in Nigeria while I was visiting my father. Olu was shooting the video while I was "getting closer to nature". I don't think he had never been so close to goats before.

To the side are the "Agric" chickens and to our rear is the processed fish pond.

I would like to showcase our new website. This website is so great that I can easily update contents from any computer in the world as fas as it is connected to the world wide web.

It comes with a scheduler where clients can check out dates that are available and they can book online through the contact page. Pictures can be uploaded and updated on the fly. Current images can be showcased in our portfolio in time.

Information Packet

I just finished designing an information packet for our biz. Its kinda neat and tidy and will be spotting a navy blueish color. My new 2008 wedding package is out. Part of the package will include a 20 x 30 huge canvas print and some other sweet and exiting services.

Baby Christening

Sunday, I photographed my friend's baby christening ceremony and reception. What's so cool about it was I had to attend to two different church services within three hours, my church and the baby's church. I am FULLY Blessed ;) I had fun shooting and plenty of fun with the guest. 80% are my close friends and soccer friends.

Saturday was one of the most exciting day for my aunt. She turned 50 years younger. Got home Saturday morning at 4am and continued preparing for her main party on Saturday. I wasn't the main photographer but I was able to practice some shoot in low-light and fast paced condition.

My aunt had her 50th pre-birthday celebration yesterday. The party incorporated the 1960s theme. 50 year old "Moms" or were dressed up in old school clothing. The music was old school, party like old school and the danced old school.
We had a great time and I enjoyed shooting images. I was dancing and shooting at the same time kinda' like synchronized swimming :D

I can't wait till I turn 50 so that I can throw a 1990s fashion themed party. I will be keeping my Timberland, Baggy Jeans, Goggles etc... Please enjoy life and stay blessed. This are non edited picture

As a Nikonian, I will be upgrading to the future and beyond with this new, intelligent, not so friendly, cool, nice, and super fast camera called, The D3. This is Nikon ever 12.1 mega-pixel full frame sensor camera and high ISO shooting camera.

I see myself getting one by the end of 2007 year!!!!

Today marked the 100,000 mile anniversary on my car, St. Blue. This is so amazing and I am so happy for my car. I bought this car 3 years ago on mile 20,900 miles. I've driven about 80,000 miles in 3 years. Wow.

To celebrate this milestone, St. Blue will be having a delicious oil change, German design engine tune-up, and a beautiful jacuzzi style car wash. This will also include a photoshoot :). People may think I am crazy but I thank God for my safety and whoever had been in this car.

Soccer Season

I had a blast in my second game of the season. I've been playing with Green Lightning FC for about 3 years now. We played one of the biggest game of the season and after so much effort we end up in a 2-2 draw.
The Howard County Soccer League consists of different intermural sports such as women soccer, swimming, table tennis etc. If you have what it takes to change our team please contact me on how to join a soccer team in the league.

WorkSpace

After some serious home space rearrangement, I was left with this small space for my home office. I love it because it is closer to the kitchen and the living room. This is temporary but I will still reconsider any offer from my wife. As of recent, I was able to get projects done on time. Now that school is in session, my time management skills will have to kick in.

I am still waiting for my XPS 720 from dell. Not a gamer but the productivity and upgrade ability this computer offer is breathtaking. To me this computer is up par with the MAC PRO or maybe closer.

Green Passport TV Show

I would like to reveal a TV project I've been working on since March of this year (2007). The show is called Green Passport. Is about the story of 13 Nigerians faced with the reality of living in the United States.

This brand new All Nigerian cast reality show will expose some of the misconceptions that Nigerians have about coming to North America.

In October 2007, the show will debut on TV screens in Nigeria with a dynamic documentary based reality show, Green Passport. Season 1 of the show will also air on www.greenpassport.tv

A Brand New Computer

We've been looking for a super fast and future upgradeable computer ever since the beginning of the year. The computer in mind should be able to handle simple day to day home usage tasking and graphic intense rendering multi tasking (Basic use will be for photo editing).
After researching on various computers we picked our first choice, the Apple MAC PRO.
Well we need something very fast, and we still want to stick with the PC. Changing or switching to Apple will be to much because we have to buy new sets of software etc......

Anyway we now end up with Dell. It was scary but after 1 week of research we came up with one of the fastest, productive and reliable computer as of know. The Dell XPS "Stone Cold Thriler"720 H2C edition.

After adding the Intel®Core™2 Extreme QX6800 chip, 4GBCorsair Dominator DDR2 SDRAM, 2 Tera bytes (TB) of memory space, single Blue-ray disk drive, and a Dual768MB Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra video card + Direct Store Order Discount. The total came up to be $7,938.

I designed this flier for the Singles Ministry (Revolve 360) at Jesus House Baltimore (JHB). This design was inspired from a previous design. The puzzle with the white element was used because of the theme "Singled Out". Also the color and the background was used as a puncher.

K&G Manifest

Today I went to K&G to shop for my wedding formal suit. After spending about an hour I came across this beautiful Italian 100% woven suit with extra thin blue strips. I showed it to one of my grooms men. I will be buying this suit on Wednesday upon approval. Pictures will be posted later.

16 days to Glory

16 days to my wedding and counting. This is one of the most important days in anyone's life. What is wedding? A wedding is a ceremony that celebrates the beginning of a marriage or civil union.
As of now I have less than two weeks, I haven't bought my tuxedo yet due to projects that seem to last forever. I will be upgrading my blog everyday and everyday and now and now and now. Pictures and information on my wedding preparation will be posted. This is a promise to me and who ever visit this page.

Greeny Design

The flyer pretty much explained the aspect of the design. I wanted to divide the face into two. So I used a blurry effect on the white line under the main title. This design brings out the main message, PRAYER CONFERENCE, into the 'marker'. I mean if you look at the flyer the first thin that catches your eye is the main message. Most people will then skip to the picture of the guest speaker and then to the right. The address of the venue was carefully placed to the right for ease. The background color was picked to give a summer cool effect.

Shooting with no 'flash' is one of the best way to capture natural and delicate timeless moment. Sometimes on camera flash can cause harsh and torch light feel to images. The use of multiple flash system is another way to be creative with light and to capture the impact, emotion, creativity, style and composition of an image you need to be able to see the directions of the available light.

For the past couple of years, I've been learning how to shoot indoors with studio light. In addition, to express your creativity you need the desired light in an image. I thrive to learn how to control, bend, and to see The Light.
